Faisal Awadallah

Faisal Awadallah recently joined the Studio team as Operations Coordinator and will use his expertise to manage the facilities and assist with events and programming. He brings with him years of experience supervising a mountain camp in the middle of lush forests at a retreat center in the Berkshires. Faisal graduated in 2008 from the State University of New York at New Paltz and holds a BA in Black Studies. He is a creative artist who uses his knowledge of the history and culture of the African diaspora to inform his imagination in his poetry and other writings. Since arriving in New Orleans in 2020, he has taught in Jefferson and Orleans Parish schools and is currently completing his debut fantasy novel, Ruhseed, for publication.
