Leah Starr has a B.A. in English and Environmental Studies from Tulane University and is currentlypursuing an M.P.A. with a certificate in Environmental Management and Resilience. She is passionate about environmental advocacy and education, with particular interests in water-related issues such as coastal restoration, habitat preservation, and access to clean drinking water. Previously, Leah co-directed Tulane’s first student-led Earth Day Festival, founded the Professional Environmental Fraternity, and worked as a law clerk supporting litigation related to PFAS contamination and drinking water safety.
At the ByWater Institute, Leah supports the coordination of environmental programming and events. She provides administrative and operational support for the institute’s research and outreach activities. Leah also manages office expenses and serves as the institute’s primary point of contact.
