The TRCC opened in 2016 and features laboratories, offices, and a public meeting space with views of the Mississippi River. The building is managed by the ByWater Institute, but scholars from the Department of River-Coastal Science and Engineering also use the facilities on a daily basis. The meeting space can be used by any organization for programming relevant to the TRCC mission. For reservations, please contact trcc@tulane.edu.

A Studio in the Woods is dedicated to preserving the endangered bottomland hardwood forest and providing within it a peaceful retreat where artists, scholars and students can reconnect with nature and work uninterrupted. The Studio has an established record of pairing land preservation with intimate artist residencies and connecting artists to the local community through creative discourse centered on environmental challenges.

The ByWater Institute has administrative offices located in the Lindy Boggs building. Our offices, centrally located on Tulane’s Uptown Campus offer a convenient meeting space and access to campus services.
Research Services
The ByWater Institute supports research across Tulane University with facilities, research vessels, proposal support, and transdisciplinary team-building.
