Get involved
If you are a Tulane undergraduate student interested in getting involved with the ByWater Institute, consider applying for our Spring 2027 course, Multi-disciplinary research (SCEN-2660)
SCEN-2660 offers students interested in climate adaptation a unique opportunity to learn by doing.
Throughout the semester, each student will:
- Gain firsthand experience with how scientists and practitioners investigate environmental challenges, develop solutions, and communicate their findings to the public.
- Work directly with BWI researchers, Faculty Fellows, and staff on active research and applied projects matched to their interests.
- Contribute to BWI's public-facing Substack newsletter.
- Attend a guided boat excursion through the New Orleans region that introduces the remarkable network of natural and built infrastructure that shapes the city's relationship with water.
This course is by application only, but available to all Tulane undergraduate majors with no prerequisites. To apply for and learn more about the course, click here. If you have any questions, email bywater@tulane.edu.
