Li Huang

Li Huang has an impressive background with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from China University of Geosciences, an M.S. in Ecological Geology from Moscow State University, and a Ph.D. in Hydrogeology from the University of Alabama. Her research focuses on ecological geology, hydrogeology, sustainable resource management, and machine learning. In one project, Li determined how nitrate pollution enters the Gulf of Mexico in Gulf Shores, USA by studying the paths taken by underground water and pollutants. In another project, Li used a special technique called fiber-optic distributed temperature sensing to identify areas where groundwater and surface water interact in the Heihe Basin, China. Li Huang's work helps us understand and manage our water resources in a sustainable way.
